  • Nissens Named AD International Supplier of the Year

    Horsens, Denmark, April 26, 2016

At the annual AD International summit in Mechelen, Belgium on April 20th, Nissens was awarded AD International Supplier of the Year. The nominees are chosen based on supplier evaluation across the member countries, and the evaluation focuses, among others, on supplier performance in areas such as product quality, logistics and marketing.

The humble start in November 2008, when AD International and Nissens started their partnership, has led us to the center stage of the AD International Summit in Mechelen in April 2016. 7½ year after Nissens became one of the highly branded suppliers to the multinational wholesaler co-operation group, Nissens was awarded its highest honor – Supplier of the Year. The award was accepted by the humble and honored Nissens CEO, Mikkel Krogslund Andersen, and Nissens’s Sales Director, Anja Thomsen.

“We are extremely thankful to receive this award. AD International is one of our most important partners, and being acknowledged in such a way is a great honor. The excessive network of highly professional partners and distributors, as well as the world class automotive manufacturers supplying the network, both give a clear idea of what the group represents. This is the elite of the automotive aftermarket. Being selected as Supplier of the Year is a huge acknowledgement, and we want to thank AD International for this award. But at the same time, we do not see this award as having reached the top. With this award, a responsibility to keep increasing performance follows – a responsibility we are ready to take on,” Anja Thomsen says.

    Dedication is paying off

From a humble beginning as a Danish radiator repair shop in 1921, Nissens has grown to become one of the leading manufacturers within the AC and EC aftermarket. The company has experienced steady organic growth, which is based on a clear strategy and commitment, continuous work towards improving the product range, quality and logistics.  Nissens’s tagline reads “Delivering the Difference”, which, according to Anja Thomsen, relates to all aspects of the business and is the foundation for future growth.

“We have devised a strategy that does not simply focus on increasing sales, but also on becoming more efficient and on simplifying processes and increasing flexibility, thereby facilitating our partners’ work. At the same time, we have kept our focus on what we have always been good at – AC and EC solutions. We are dedicated to this field, and we are always pushing it to higher levels. It has been hard work, but when you perform internally, the payoffs are passed down to your customers. This is the whole essence when we say that Nissens is “delivering the difference”, and why I believe that we are in the position we are in at the moment – being AD International’s Supplier of the Year” – Anja Thomsen explains.

    An aftermarket leader

AD International is one of the leading providers of services supporting professional repairers with a full range of parts, products, tools and equipment. With 33 partners, covering 22 countries and 500 distributors, AD International is a leading wholesaler co-operation, positioning itself as a major driving force in automotive parts distribution. The fact that some of the largest and most dominant suppliers are part of the network makes the AD International Supplier of the Year award an even bigger acknowledgement.

“We want to be the best at what we do, and while we are extremely humble and honored, we are not done. Over the last year, our turnover towards ADI increased by 26%, and we see great possibilities in expanding the partnership with ADI even further. We are continuously working on creating a better, stronger and more agile Nissens. We want to create the best solutions for the aftermarket and deliver the difference that can create value not only for us, but for the whole aftermarket as well. We want to take the lead in narrowing the gap between OE and independent aftermarket – and we believe that we are on the path towards doing so,” Anja Thomsen concludes.
